LANGKAWI ISLAND

3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS

Langkawi is one of the main tourist destination in Kedah. Relatively remote and unspoiled in its floral and fauna. It is a fascinating island for those who love tranquil and quiet holidays.Often referred to as the island with legends galore, Langkawi draws visitors for its mysticism and natural beauty. Surrounded by pristine waters and consisting of 99 islands, some that vertically rise from the sea, Langkawi makes a perfect destination for water activities, such as boating, fishing and diving. It is picturesque, so take time to explore its quaint villages, mountains and waterfalls. Most of all, many love Langkawi for its duty-free shopping!

Eagle Square is Langkawi's most prominent landmark for visitors arriving by sea.Situated near the Kuah jetty, the main attraction of the Eagle Square (Dataran Lang) is the magnificent statue of the reddish brown eagle majestically poised for flight. According to local folklore, Langkawi derived its name from the eagle or "helang". In old Malay, "kawi" denotes reddish brown, hence, Langkawi means reddish brown eagle!

Dataran Lang is beautifully landscaped and features scenic ponds, bridges, covered terraces, restaurants and barrel vaults made of bricks.

During the day, the eagle square is magnificently beautiful. You also need to see the eagle square at night - it's radiantly illuminated at night.
